"Utah may be the last place that comes to mind when one thinks about national innovation and leadership in regional planning. As a highly conservative state, Utah boasts a staunch property‐rights faction, along with a true western disdain for all things related to government control. With its strident skepticism of global climate change, and jealous regard for local control of all land use decisions, it would be surprising if Utah surpassed more liberal locales in its progress on regional cooperation and its adoption of quality growth ideas.1 And yet that is what has happened". ~ Brookings Institution UNLV Chapter

Brookings continues, "Utah has become an unlikely leader in regional planning through a voluntary partnership of key leaders, agencies, local government, and the general public. Given that regional planning efforts around the nation have generally evoked strong reactions from residents concerned about losing local control, the success of Envision Utah—the organization that emerged as a key driver of regional planning in Utah—in building a consensus around regional growth management holds lessons for other regions.

Envision Utah adopted several strategies that have distinguished Utah’s regional planning efforts from other regions and given rise to what can be called the “Utah model” of collaborative planning. Envision Utah found success by not only tapping into people’s shared values and aspirations, but also because of its significant public engagement, use of convincing, unbiased data to demonstrate the need to work regionally, and ability to garner broad buy‐in from important stakeholders in the community.

As more is learned from Envision Utah’s success in regional coordination, a number of takeaways appear relevant for other regions:

 Pay attention to the sustainability and capacity of the leading organization  Arm the public with clear data and analysis, skillfully marketed
 Package all proposals and principles to appeal to the values of the community

 Spend time initiating and maintaining the right political setup".  

In other words, market your plan with flashy propaganda, define the "values" of any particular community although they may not be theirs they only responded to your survey, use "leaders", including political/religious leaders who outwardly promote the sustainable agenda and, control the narrative.

Salt Lake City received a $5 million Sustainable Communities Regional Planning grant to create a Regional Housing Plan that will integrate housing recommendations with regional transportation plans. The award recognized the long‐term regional partnership comprised of local governments, MPOs, transit authority, the University of Utah, private enterprise, and Envision Utah itself. The team of individuals that had been working together and teaching each other cooperatively for many years was able to mobilize quickly to respond effectively to the highly competitive grant process. On a recent visit, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan recognized the unusual longevity of the loose coalition, saying: “Salt Lake City has not only been a leader, it’s also been a model for the entire nation with smart planning.” See Lee Davidson, “Housing Secretary Praises Utah Growth Vision,” ~ Salt Lake Tribune, June 2, 2011

Now, I've been telling Utah that the Wasatch Regional Council, and those who head it like Andrew Gruber who is Metropolitan Planning Organization trained in Chicago and the American Planning Association is behind Agenda 21 in Utah for years.  They should be on everyone's radar, but there is very little reported on them.  You must realize these individuals and groups have to use deception in their words while also operating in plain sight to accomplish their United Nations goals while receiving accolades to keep the engine running.  I recommend everyone read the document published by the Brookings Institute, it will help you discover the wolf in sheep's clothing.

The Life on State project establishes a shared vision for the future of our valley's central, historic corridor. The vision was built on broad involvement from residents and stakeholders along State Street, claims Wasatch Front Regional Council, a Metro Planning Organization social engineering every community along the Wasatch Front.  An un-elected board of state and local elected leaders under the direction of Andrew Gruber.  To uncover the was these organizations work and co-opt the community to accept THEIR PLAN as our own the following information is very enlightening.

The Raw Deceit of Envision Utah-

Planners call Envision Utah a ‘national model’ for regional planning. The Brookings Institute cited Utah as a “leader in [voluntary] regional planning…”

Behind the inflated congratulations lies sophisticated deceit and manipulation fast becoming the standard for regional planning.

Envision Utah began over 15 years ago as a public-private partnership offering recommendations to cities and counties to preserve open space, increase transportation choices and more.

Envision Utah claims to have one of regional planning’s most successful outreach programs. Nearly 2,000 people attended 50 workshops and 17,500 responded to online and mail-in surveys. Yet, the turnout is no wonder.

In one of the longest-running marketing campaigns in planning history, Envision Utah proponents assured residents that joining the plan was voluntary. There would be no un-elected regional councils, no regional plan, and the community would design the planning scenarios. This ‘no-risk’ campaign effectively disarmed community members’ objections, leaving planners free to advance their programs beneath a mantel of “neutrality”.

But, Envision Utah’s promissory jargon belies the unscrupulous tactics they used to win residents’ approval for the same mixed-use-open space algorithm that has been rejected in Utah and communities across the country.

Marketing to values-

Early in the planning process, the Envision Utah steering committee hired nationally recognized polling firm, Wirthland Worldwide, to determine the ‘quality of life’ values held by community members.

Survey results revealed that most respondents saw their state as a “safe haven, where others shared their common sense of honesty, morality and ethics.” They placed these values in the context of children and their families.

Envision Utah proponents then used these values as the centerpiece of a targeted marketing strategy designed to impose the planner’s ideas community by community.

Renaming controversial ideas-

Since the survey indicated family interaction was a high priority, planners re-branded their efforts. Urban planning became the glue that held families together. “High-density living”, was recast as compact housing that allowed young families to locate near relatives. Grandparents were urged to buy condos near their children rather than worry about new zoning laws that could restrict single family homes. Planners rarely discussed their role in creating the “restrictions.”

Planners replaced the unpopular term “Smart Growth”, with the more benign, “Quality Growth Strategy.” In keeping with their targeted marketing, Quality Growth meant keeping the air and water clean for children and grandchildren.

The “chip game”-

In 1998 Envision Utah developed a unique “chip game” which allowed community participants to place chips, representing homes, on a map to decide the future layout of their community. In deciding where to place homes, people had to consider complex issues such sewage lines, utilities and other services. It was billed as people talking charge of their future. Yet, even this community activity was highly controlled.

Early on planners established basic understandings. More open spaces were needed, long work drives damaged the environment and urban sprawl was to be avoided. This left the players few planning options. It was no surprise when most participants decided in favor of the same mixed-use, transit oriented living the planners wanted all along.

Promoting the vague-

Envision Utah avoided creating a visible plan that could be analyzed. Instead planners talked about principles, and suggested, rather than advocated, transit-oriented living, mixed-use and open spaces. They then ‘nudged’ community members to “do the right thing” by barraging them with internet ads, newspaper articles and workshops educating Utahans to the dangers of not having these urban designs.

In one example, Utah Transit Authority’s “King of the Road” commercial showed a man driving his convertible top-down, humming to the 60’s tune. Meanwhile, the crawl says, “He doesn’t know the words…Also doesn’t know that UTA takes 81,000 cars a year off the road.”

In 30 seconds, the ad depicts young, carefree people who love freedom as clueless, while reinforcing the dubious assumption that driving less is undeniably beneficial. At best, it is undeniably controversial.

Winning through fear-

Often scare tactics employed half-truths as in this example from Envision Utah’s website:

“In urban areas, land close to existing job centers is rapidly disappearing, and if we’re not careful about how we grow, housing costs could skyrocket and force many of our good, hard-working neighbors elsewhere— excluding from our communities teachers, fire fighters, and our own children as they get their start in life. The further Utahans live from where they work, shop and play, the more they spend on car-related expenses.”

Notice the implied threat that if people do not live in a high density area, they could lose teachers, firefighters and even their own children (remember the values survey results) to rising costs. Little consideration was given to the exorbitant housing costs in other Smart Growth areas like, Seattle and Portland. The observation that car-costs rise if you move away from the urban center, overlooks the reality that, for many, this may be a worthwhile trade-off.

In spite of Envision Utah’s calculated posturing, there is little “neutral” about these statements.

The king of surveys-

Colorful, interactive online surveys still attract thousands and are promoted by Envision Utah and the state.

In this survey, targeting residents of Madison County, Utah, the planners explain that higher priced home costs are the result of larger lots and will require “individual families to sink wells and septic tanks.” Larger properties and self-contained services are positioned as burdens with no talk of the benefits.

Beneath the graph, planners note, “The more you spread out, the more expensive it is. This is not a judgment, just facts to think about. Road costs [are] paid by everybody.” The message is clear. Roads are costly, and if you want more, you are selfish since everyone else pays for them. There is no mention of the increased respiratory diseases, traffic congestion and exorbitant housing costs that accompany the high-density living planners are promoting.

As one seasoned planner observed, “Envision Utah uses the most biased surveys I have ever seen.”

Keys to success-

If Envision Utah has met success, it is mainly the result of distorted facts and a relentless, decade’s long marketing campaign creating the illusion that planners are neutral and participation is “voluntary.” One must wonder how many communities would volunteer if equal efforts were expended marketing the failures of compact living.

In spite of the deceptions, other regions, including Envision Missoula, Building the Wyoming We Want, Envision Central Texas, Louisiana Speaks, Superstition Vistas, Thrive 2055, and many more are adopting all or a portion of the Envision Utah model.

But plans that lure participants through deception can result in unwanted surprises.

Un-elected regional councils with the authority to mandate local zoning and regulations are the goal post of regional planning. Yet, Envision Utah created no new un-elected council. Urban designs are built upon pre-existing regional authorities like local Metropolitan Planning Organizations and the Utah Transit Authority. But once the smaller regional plans are completed, there is little to prevent a consortium of their leaders from formalizing a single larger region. Will this happen? It’s hard to say.

But history shows, all it takes is a little deceit and a good marketing campaign.

Utah Legislators Conned By Lobbyist Groups To Re-Write Constitution

 

The 2017 Utah State Legislative Session began Jan 23. Legislation has already been introduced that could spell the end of the U.S. Constitution as we know it.

 

Instead of holding politicians in D.C. accountable for violating the law, misguided Utah state legislators simply want to CHANGE the Constitution. . .. . . the SAME Constitution that politicians currently refuse to follow!
 

Proponents have been working behind the scenes for months to get our state legislature to issue a new call for a convention.  The Current resolution HJR3, Joint Resolution Calling For A Convention To Amend The Constitution Of The United States.  In viewing the text of the resolution, notice the wording of the body is EXACTLY the same, including the resolution number, to the Virginia effort.  THIS IS NO ACCIDENT!  

 

Not only should our legislators rescind Utah’s current convention resolution, but they need to oppose any new call for an Article V Convention. Please help send a message to them.

Establishment politicians from both parties have been incrementally dismantling your rights for decades upon decades. An Article V Convention could allow them to lay waste to all of your rights in one single, devastating action.

 

Sadly, some well-meaning Utahans have been misled into believing a ConCon will help create new “limits” on the federal government, but those limits could dismantle current constitutional restrictions and give the government even MORE control and power to take away our money and our liberty.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF A CONVENTION IS HELD?

 

Because an Article V ConCon has never been attempted, none of the self-proclaimed “experts” behind this effort really know what will happen if they get their way.

 

The truth is that coercive, progressive activists — like BILLIONAIRE George Soros – expect to be able to use their power and influence to direct the entire process.
 

One group supportive of a ConCon — Convention of States Project — points out on its own website that if a convention is called. . .

“. . . the convention of states itself would determine which ideas deserve serious consideration. . .”

 

WHO WANTS A CONVENTION AND WHAT DO THEY WANT?
 

Coercive, progressive activists — like BILLIONAIRE George Soros – hope to use their power and influence to direct the entire process.
 

Literally hundreds of progressive organizations, such as Wolf PAC, Sierra Club, Code Pink, Alliance for Progressive Values, Move On, and “Occupy,” have been pushing for a convention since 2009!
 

Many of these groups want to limit your political speech rights protected by the First Amendment.

 

Others want to do away with the Second Amendment entirely.

 

That is why it is so important to sign the petition HERE right away. By doing so we can let our Utah legislators know that YOU, their constituents, want them to OPPOSE a ConCon and SUPPORT a resolution to rescind any current call for a Convention.

 

Former Barack Obama campaign advisor Lawrence Lessig — who supports the efforts of BOTH Wolf PAC and Convention of States Project — recently said the following about a ConCon:

“The beauty of a convention is that it would provide a forum of possibility for conservative Tea Party types as well as progressives.

“The only requirement is that two-thirds of the states apply, and then begins the drama of an unscripted national convention to debate questions of fundamental law. It would be a grand circus of democracy at its best.”

A “grand circus” indeed! Do YOU want the Constitution featured at a Grand Convention Circus?

 

A LIMITED CONVENTION?

 

Many believe a constitutional convention can be limited to certain types or categories of changes.

 

But that simply is not true. Article V itself does not back up any assertions that a convention can be limited — and noted constitutional scholars agree.

 

The Constitution itself doesn’t place limits or restrictions on subject matter, spell out the convention process, or determine how delegates should be chosen.

But that’s not all.

 

WHAT DOES HISTORY SHOW US?
The risk of a “runaway convention” is extreme -– especially in today’s political climate.

 

Our Founding Fathers met in Philadelphia with instructions to fix issues with the Articles of Confederation. The delegates from those 13 states couldn’t agree, and we ended up with a whole new Constitution.

 

That’s right, once the convention was convened, the instructions were thrown out the window.

 

We were extremely blessed that most of those at the convention favored limited government.

 

WHO WOULD STAND FOR LIBERTY TODAY?

 

There are few true advocates of limited government alive today that would be invited to an Article V ConCon.

 

Do you trust the hundreds of progressive organizations calling for an Article V Convention to do the right thing and rein in the federal government?

 

Do you trust the powerful special interests, backed by George Soros and his ilk, to do the right thing?

 

Just imagine what will happen at a convention being held to manipulate the U.S. Constitution, with BOTH Republican and Democrat establishment and hundreds of progressive, George Soros-types pulling the strings.
 

If an Article V ConCon is called, it will likely be impossible to stop devastating changes from being made to our Constitution. All of your rights will be open to revision (or worse) — by powerful special interest groups and establishment politicians.

 

A convention is extremely dangerous — especially today!

Sandy City Trying To Erase History-Utah (2)

Preserve Historic Sandy

Founded in 1871, the area was first used by nomadic bands of Paiute, Shoshone, and Bannock Indians who roamed along the base of the mountains as they traveled from their winter home at Utah Lake to their summer fishing grounds at Bear Lake.  Sandy Utah is located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, fifteen miles south of Salt Lake City.  Permanent settlers moved to Sandy during the 1860's, first to distance themselves from the hustle and bustle of the Salt Lake Valley, then as a hub for the silver mining in Little Cottonwood Canyon.  After the mines failed in the 1890's Sandy did not become a "ghost town" as history has shown in other places, it reinvented itself as an agricultural town.  During the 1970's the community began to really take shape!

Historic Sandy, known to many natives as "the original mile", many rumors circulate as to how it got it's name.  Known for it's thirsty soil or maybe after the "colorful Scotsman" Alexander "Sandy" Kinghorn, the engineer who ran the first train-line to the south end of the Salt Lake Valley, or maybe "Sandy Station", do to the old railroad track that used to haul ore and other products in and out of the area.  Not matter, the name stuck and it found itself on the map.   Fast forward, 2015.  Those old railroad tracks are still in use, but instead of freight it's become lite-rail, "TRAX", UTA now owns the rails and they've purchased some land, and with the help of Sandy's elected, and un-elected (WFRC the "Deputy Mayor" "Senior Adviser" and Planning/Zoning Department, Envision Utah), just to name a few, they want to have the zoning changed to accommodate their high density building projects.  Although Historic Sandy has gone through many changes over the years, for the most part it has retained it's integrity, 51 sites of which have previously been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Knowing this, why does Sandy City hierarchy want to erase history?

 

Truth is, there's a lot of money to be made in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) being peddled by UTA and the Federal Government through The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Transit Administration.  Sandy officials claim, "the city is built out", so they are going for broke, attaching themselves to the udder of the federal tit and resorting to crony capitalism to line their pockets at every level of government.  What is UTA doing in the property development business anyway?  The "quasi-public-private agency", subsidized with Utah Tax Payer dollars, legitimizes it's shady development deals as "profit sharing" as it leases the land to developers and pockets the profits.  The developers also encourage higher density too, since the government subsidies make it more feasible.  It makes it hard to follow the bread crumbs, but they lead right into the spiders web!  In a 2009 article Mayor Tom Dolan, and then Council Member turned Chief Administrative Officer, Byron Jorgenson said, "[there is] concern that the streets in the area would not be able to handle so much additional traffic" and "the Federal Government is notorious for promoting high-rise housing that turns into slums, [we] don't want that in Sandy."  Although, as I mentioned in a previous post, the two have no problem whatsoever in building just that, (The Cairns 2- 25 story high-rises with surrounding buildings with 6 levels), and from what I found in their documents, it could be worse than that, as there are frequent mentions of "high-rise" buildings in multiple locations, one in which they call "The Ultimate Base Camp."  (Use your imagination here).   What made these "saps" sell out?  They are bringing these problems to Sandy!  Traffic congestion and slums to boot!

 

 

We do have one thing to be thankful for, and that is that homeowners in the vicinity of 10600 South and 300 East packed the Sandy City Chamber Tuesday Night (November 10) to oppose the project which resulted in tabling the Transit Oriented High Density Development 5-2.  Councilman Chris McCandless, also a developer, advocated that, "the project would actually help traffic, and it would cover less area than single family homes and would interfere less with neighbors' views."  Although neighbors argue the plan would bring more traffic to already overloaded 10200 and 10600 South and surrounding neighborhoods.  They said, "exiting and entering those streets already requires long waits and plenty of accidents and near collisions."  Jim Duffin said, "I get religion every time I enter that street!"  Council Chairman Stephen Smith said, "the burden on the developer is unfair for the improvements the city seeks and that is why they must build high-density to pay for it!"  The council is requiring a traffic study by the engineers and the developer before approving the re-zoning.  SAVE YOUR MONEY!  THE RESIDENTS OF SANDY HAVE TESTIFIED, "THE TRAFFIC IS MADNESS ALREADY!"  Good job on this one Sandy residents, let's keep this on our radar screen and call and email our representatives and give them an ear full on this!

 

Utah, Developers and the Utah Legislature:

In 2009 Wasatch Property Management (Loy Hansen) won a bid for the Civic Center TRAX station project. Several contracts have been awarded to Boulder Ventures (Jeffrey Vitek - Foursquare Development), although a project in Draper was not completed by Vitek he has also not reimbursed the funds fronted him by UTA, but nevertheless UTA continues to award him contracts.  Previous deals with Vitek have also received scrutiny in a 2014 Legislative Audit, despite the criticism, the Utah Legislature passed SB272 in which UTA has authority to become a development partner, but is limited to 5 partnerships at a time.  No matter.  UTA is expanding it's role from bus and train service provider to developer.  If you listen to what UTA and the Developers are telling us, it's all about Transit Oriented Development (TOD), where the housing developments promote mixed-use, high-density units that double or even triple the current allowed density.  If you haven't heard by now it's a United Nations Plan called Agenda 21, or the Agenda for the 21st Century, or as it's been re-branded now since Obama's announcement, Agenda 2030, Sustainable Development, Smart Growth.  The higher the density, the bigger the subsidy from the Federal Government.  Hansen, when asked about units per acre said, "it's more expensive to build high density projects.  The break-even point is 23 units per acre (Sandy High Density Zoning was 15 unites per acre in 2009) so, the higher the density the better chance you have of qualifying for government subsidies."  UTA recommends at least 30 units per acre, but could rise to 60 units per acre.  UTA's Kathy Olsen said, "all federal programs for TOD insist on density."  In the words of a Deseret News reader,

"So, how does UTA acquire so much wealth they can now abuse the use of taxpayer funds as developers?  The UTA has no business in city development, and are acting like the old time train barons who put up cities wherever they run their tracks."

 

My thoughts exactly "Fraud and Abuse!"  I've said it in previous posts!  It's the plan!  The perfect plan if you're UTA and the Wasatch Front Regional Council.  And even Sandy City's 30 Year Plan states,

"streets are intended to be outdoor rooms, associated to and interactive with the buildings.  The street system will be designed to:  PRIORITIZE walking, bicycling and transit use.  Support the use of streets as public space for social interaction and community life, be outdoor rooms that enhance ecological function!"

Have you heard anything more absurd?  And, not sure if you noticed, there is no mention of cars!  Not to mention the 2 cars for every "family" they want living in those high-density developments!  Have you tried to navigate Sandy City on Real/Rio Tinto Event Nights?  I've said this before but, that's the plan...to get you out of your car, or SUV, whatever the case may be.  They will make it more difficult for you to drive your car on the streets your tax dollars pay for, because the plan calls for less lanes for vehicles, more lanes for bikes and pedestrians, you heard that right!  There are even artist renderings showing this.  In one rendering Sandy uses, there is even a horse!  Sandy's Plan also talks about the maximum steps (1800 ft. max 1200 ft. min.), people are willing to walk, and this is why the high-density development is being built within walking distance of TRAX and Front Runner.  This is not unique to Sandy Utah either.  You can find a carbon copy of this Agenda in every city along the Wasatch Front and beyond.  Cottonwood Heights, Dhabi, Ottawa..."any-town USA." Only problem is SANDY IS ON STEROIDS!  (Check out some of my YouTube Videos for signs of this).  If we mobilize now and stay vigilant we can stop the rest of the Agenda at 10600 South 300 East, at the North End Historic District, and coming in the future East on 9400 South to the Canyon.  Educate yourself and your neighbors.  It's great to hear about a good turnout at Tuesday's City Council Meeting!  Let's keep momentum on our side.  Keep Sustainable Development out and protect our private property rights.

As far as I'm concerned, TRAX has done more damage than it has good.  I had a small business in downtown Salt Lake City across from the Gateway Shopping Center and down the street from the Road Home.  The homeless, and others, are using TRAX to commute to every city down the line to panhandle and commit crime, (the Library is high on their list too.  Ever wonder why Salt Lake City Library has such a high rate of child molestation)?  Don't forget, Draper's Library is also on the TRAX line!  The TRAX parking lots are magnets for theft, vandalism and assaults.  UTA "Police" visit lots periodically, peek in vehicles to check for valuables, if they find them, they tag your vehicle with a bright yellow card giving theirves and vandal the "heads up!  This one is ripe for the pickin'" signal!  The trains cause more traffic jams than they alleviate.  The traffic jams at 10:00 p.m. on 11400 South East bound between State Street and 300 East are ridiculous!  And  if they don't keep the skids greased they are NOISY!  Can anyone say "noise pollution?"  And the CRONYISM, need I say more?

 

 

Just a word or two on government and the un-elected boards, 501c3's, planning commissions and appointed positions.  Let's weed them out!  Government is to big and impersonal anyway.  And there's nothing worse than taking dictates from people you had no say in appointing, our tax dollars are going to support, whether through dues or wages.  No city really needs a planning department.  All they do is add to the code and find ways to collect taxes, fees, penalties and limit what you can do with your property.  These items can easily be taken up with the city council.  They work for us and should be attentive when we come for redress.  If our city officials are listening to the dictates of Non Governmental Organizations like Envision Utah and The Wasatch Front Regional Council we should give them a warning to dis-associate, or they won't be re-elected.  When they survey 400 people out of 87,000 to convince you of their plan for you, you tell them you want a re-count!  We pay taxes so we can be informed and included in the planning of our cities.  Mayor Tom Dolan is front and center on the Wasatch Front Regional Council.  A council that includes elected officials from all across the Wasatch Front, that pay dues, city money, to sit on this NGO, and those other city officials are voting to decide what goes on in your city not you.  The participants bring home WFRC/Envision Utah Plans (Agenda 21 Plans) and feed them to your council members as the authority in what should happen in your city.  Don't stand for it!  At every turn tell him you know and you want them off the COG, and to stop giving them your tax dollars.  Vote Dolan and those who are complicate out.  Research your Utah representatives and whenever possible expose their wrong-doing.

 

Listen- I'm not opposed to development, but not in the United Nations sense.  But, when Mayor Dolan is quoted as saying "We need it for our tax base, we need it for the vitality of the area.  We need it to bring jobs here, the office buildings so people can live, work and play close to their jobs."  I say, "we already have a Salt Lake!"  If we want Salt Lake, and all that comes with that, we could move 15 miles North!  Better yet, just visit, or commute to your hearts delight!  The first families that vacated the Salt Lake Valley to inhabit the South end, Sandy area, moved here to get away from the hustle and bustle of Salt Lake.  It didn't keep the town from changing and expanding, but people liked homesteading here because it was a slower pace community, a place you could have some elbow room.  We can still have the necessities, but we don't need it in the "Salt Lake City" kind of way.  And, when corruption and cronyism take root, you get what Sandy has got now, mob rule by elite gangsters.  Sandy citizens can put a halt to all the unnecessary development that the elites are forcing on them right now, and I think we should.

 

Like Benjamin Franklyn said, "We have a Republic, if we can keep it!"  We can, and we should!

Sandy City did the right thing in electing someone other than the "same old, same old" Tom Dolan.  Newly elected Kurt Bradburn replaces Dolan as Mayor in the 2016 election, but it's not really an improvement, since he is giving Sandy City more of the same, although claiming he didn't like what Sandy had become since his leaving the area several years prior to his election campaign.

Some of the damage Bradburn is wreaking on Sandy Taxpayers are-  Voting himself, and others, a raise without Council approval, then gives it back after facebook backlash, while media reports it as a pay cut, because it sounds more noble, after being such a stickler for financial accountability during the campaign against Dolan.  He was the "brain-child" of the most strict "idle free" policy in Salt Lake County.  To his credit he FINALLY fires the crooked Police Chief, too bad!  I frequently worked with Thacker as a young officer to investigate theft and vandalism (crimes that have victims) back in the early 90's, sad to see someone fall so far from the apple tree but was not stopped by Dolan.  We will see if it makes a difference in the Corporate Code Enforcement in the form of ENDLESS speed traps (victimless crimes) on Sandy roads.  Mayor Kurt Bradburn also replaces Tom Dolan on the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC).  This is known as a COG or Council Of Government a group of elected officials forming an un-elected government making policy out of the public's eye with a globalist agenda.

These are just a few areas where opponents of a global elite takeover should be concerned.  Although this is not a complete list, it is a wake-up call to "buyer beware"!
